Each fall and spring, an on-site Student Leader Workshop is held at each of the Outdoor School and Oregon Trail sites (spring only for Oregon Trail). This gives prospective Student Leaders an opportunity to see the site, meet the staff, and get hands-on training about their role as a Student Leader.
TO SERVE AS A STUDENT LEADER, YOU MUST ATTEND A WORKSHOP EACH SESSION. Register for a Workshop online or turn in a signed registration card to the MESD office. Register online using the button to the left, or download a paper registration card. Paper registration cards are also available in your High School Counseling Office. |
After you register for Workshop online, your parent or guardian will receive an e-mail asking them to authorize your participation. Have them check their e-mail spam filters—if they do not receive it, contact the Outdoor School office.

Once you have been approved by a guardian and by your high school counselor, you will receive a paper invitation to participate in our Workshop in the mail. This invitation will include your site assignment and a bus schedule.

The SL Workshop is an overnight event. Please bring a sleeping bag, pillow, flashlight, writing utensil, paper, and warm / waterproof clothing (the sites get cold at night, and most of Saturday will be spent outdoors).
