Location and Directions
The Arrah Wanna Outdoor School site is about 40 miles from the MESD office. It takes approximately 45 minutes to reach the Arrah Wanna site from the MESD office, and the closest community is Welches. The site is located on the Salmon River, at the base of Mount Hood, on the back side of the Wildwood Recreation Area off Highway 26. Directions: Proceed east on Mt. Hood Highway (U.S. 26) through Gresham and Sandy (approximately 15 miles past Sandy). Immediately after passing the Wemme town limit sign, drivers should take the first turn right, at Oregon Realty and Ace Hardware, onto Arrah Wanna Blvd. Proceed south .4 mile to a large Camp Arrah Wanna sign on your right.
For West County Schools: Take the Banfield Freeway (I-84) east to the Wood Village exit. Proceed south on 238th drive through Gresham. Turn east onto U.S. #26 (Burnside St.) and proceed east to Wemme as above. |
