My name is Michelle Bruncks and I'm the Program Director for the wilderness portion of our organization.
Sail2Change is a Portland-based nonprofit 501 (C) (3), which aspires to improve community equity by empowering our youth through access, opportunity, authentic relationships, and alternative outdoor education.
Our summer program consists of a two-week sailboat training on the Willamette River and two-weeks of wilderness survival training for upcoming 10th-grade students. This year I will be taking the students, along with 8 to 10 guides. We will spend a total of 5 days in a campground, and 7 days on the trail. There are two sessions of this for boys and girls.
I am looking for wilderness guides to accompany me this summer. We are looking for folks with a strong knowledge of this area, backpacking, edible plants, water filtration, making shelters, and in general wilderness survival skills. It's a huge bonus if they are WFR certified. Do you know anyone who would be interested?
Please let me know if you have any questions at all about this, and if you know of anyone who would be interested in this opportunity.
Sincerely,
Michelle Bruncks
