Each summer, Friends of Tryon Creek State Park runs a day camp for children from Kindergarten to 8th grade. Positions available are for camp counselors. Volunteer opportunities are also available for high school students as assistant counselors. Located in southwest Portland, Tryon Creek State Park is a forested area that features beautiful ravines and abundant birds. Hiring occurs in late winter.

NatureBridge fosters environmental literacy to sustain our planet. Through hands-on environmental science programs in nature’s classroom, we bring science to life for more than 30,000 children and teens each year. With our vision for a more sustainable planet, we advocate for effective environmental education in our schools to create pathways to environmental literacy for all young people. The TREE Fund works to sustain the world’s urban forests by providing funding for scientific research, education programs, and scholarships related to arboriculture and urban forestry. Working for the Northwest Outdoor Science School can be a life changing experience. As a staff member, you will positively influence the lives of hundreds of students. You will teach sixth-graders about the ecology of the Pacific Northwest. You will help to develop the leadership and teaching skills of high school and college students. You will work with other enthusiastic, talented adults. All the while, you'll be in the beautiful outdoors of NW Oregon.
